Staff Council Area Representative Nominations

Nominations are being accepted now through May 14, 2019, for Staff Council Vice Chair, Treasurer, and all odd-numbered Area Representatives for a two-year term. Staff may nominate yourself and in addition to nominations for your Area you can also nominate staff for Areas other than your own. The Staff Council was established to create and provide a more harmonious working environment for the staff of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. It has been delegated by the Chancellor the authority and responsibility to bring to the attention of the administration matters of general staff concern and to take such actions as are necessary to enable it to meet those responsibilities. The Staff Council shall have the authority to enact such Bylaws consistent with this Constitution, as it deems necessary to conduct its affairs. The Staff Council shall consist of any full-time or part-time employees of the University subject to the State Human Resources Act (SHRA), any full-time or part-time employees of the University exempt from the State Human Resources Act (EHRA) who does not hold faculty rank, and those other employees for whom no provisions have been made. In order to serve as a Area Representative or Alternate, a nominee must have previously served at least six (6) months of service to the University prior to the nomination. Once nominated, candidates will be contacted about their willingness to serve and asked for a bio. Voting will take place May 27-June 5, 2019. The candidate receiving the most votes in their respective category shall be declared elected. The runner-up in each respective area shall be declared the Alternate. CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE
